Prestige Race- COD: Advanced Warfare

So right now I am Skyping with my friend; Sammy, both of us play Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. He plays on the Xbox 360 while I play on the Xbox One. In COD(Call of Duty)  you rank up to the highest rank (50) by obtaining experience through online multi-player. Once you get to the highest rank you have the ability to prestige, which is starting your rank over, but obtaining new equipment. The maximum prestige limit is 15, meaning you have to rank up to level 50, 15 times. Right now Sammy and I are in a prestige race against each other to see who can get to the maximum prestige first. Sammy is ahead of me at prestige 4, rank 37, while I am trailing with prestige 3, rank 42.

As I am talking to him, he is currently playing, thus constantly gaining more experience than me at this current point in time. I would do what I can to try and catch up to him right now, but I am stuck here typing this blog post. As I finish up my post, I would like to conclude that I WILL win this prestige race, and if I don't... Oh well.

Making an Emblem

So right now I am watching my cousin Danny play Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on my Xbox one and he is making me an emblem, which is pretty much a picture that may or may not represent someone. The Emblem he is suppose to be making me is a green dinosaur, with spikes all the way down his back, that breathes fire. I desire this emblem because this is what I had in a previous Call of Duty and it came out almost exactly how I wanted it. This one however that he is making currently, is almost the exact opposite of what I wanted. This dinosaur contains a green body, which is desired, spikes in certain parts of his back and head, and it breathes lightning bolts. On top of that, some of the lines do not line up to each other and it has human hands sticking its thumbs up. The spikes are red, aren't all the way from his head to tail, the arms aren't the same shape, and some parts of the body have black outlines while others don't. Thank you Danny for this Garbage dinosaur. =D

Choosing a Career #2

There are 3 things I love in life. Two of them are playing video games and making people laugh. A career that I can think of that incorporates the two would be to become a successful YouTuber. A YouTuber makes videos to post online for other people's entertainment. Although it seems as an irrational choice, its one of the very few things that actually interest me.

I have actually been thinking about pursuing this into my life somehow for around 2-3 years now. My main inspirations for this would be YouTubers: KYR Sp33dy and his friends and PewDiePie. They're my inspiration because they all love what they do and they don't care what really happens. They enjoy entertaining people by playing video games and making people laugh. PewDiePie is the most successful person on YouTube with over 30 million people subscribed to his channel, he makes approximately over 4 million dollars a year.

I plan on achieving this goal by first getting the equipment to record the videos such as a Capture card which is used by hooking up all the wires to the console and my laptop, then start recording whatever happens in the game. It will record the video and audio of whoever is playing with me and myself. I would have to post videos on a regular basis and hope that people end up enjoying the videos that go up. My parents haven't really agreed with this option as well as a DJ, but if i can become successful at something I love then I am going to go against my parents and do what I love. If I can become successful.

Choosing a Career #1

There are 3 things I love in life. One of them is Music, but not just any kind of music , my favorite style would definitely have to be Electronic Dance music because of the beat it contains. Other than that the song has to have a good beat, or i just happen to like that certain song because of its uniqueness. So configuring with my love for music, I would LOVE to be a DJ.

I have actually been thinking about being a DJ for around 2 years now. My 2 main inspirations would have to be my favorite DJ: Tiesto (who is my blog wallpaper) and one of my best friends named Justin. Justin is an inspiration to me because of how talented he is when actually using DJ equipment, he has in own equipment which I use when he has it on him. Tiesto is an inspiration to me because he loves what he does and I just happen to enjoy all of his music. He is extremely popular in the EDM(Electronic Dance Music) world, I would love to see him on tour or at a Festival of some sort.

I plan on achieving this goal of practicing with Justin on his equipment for now until I possibly get my own on Christmas and being original in what I mix or create. I have already spoken to my parents about this career, but they have been on the negative side towards it because it is VERY difficult to become successful in the DJ business. The most successful DJ named Calvin Harris makes 66 million dollars each year. Tiesto makes around 28 million dollars each year. So if you do become successful then you can make a living out of it which I plan to do even though my parents are against it. Sorry mommy and daddy!

Community Post. Response to "Exposing Hidden Bias at Google"

After reading the article "Exposing Hidden Bias at Google" by Farhad Manjoo, I have realized how major of an issue the discrimination in the world is against women. Women are mentally capable of being just as successful as men are, but the obstacle that is holding them back would be men themselves. This article created some questions in my head, such as why is the world more biased towards men and against women? What makes men so much more special than women?

I believe the world is more biased towards men and against women because women are capable of creating offspring and so if they have children they will have to take breaks periodically to take care of and raise it. Whereas the father won't have to stay at home and is able to go to work. Google and other enormous companies don't have the time for their women employees to take "vacations" in order to nurse their child so they will hire the father, or the man, because he usually does not need to take breaks as extended as a woman's. This doesn't mean that every woman has a baby, but the companies will just assume that because this woman is young and a woman that she will have a baby, but it doesn't apply to everyone.

In the article, it is explaining how Google is trying to create a more diverse community within the company, although they don't have any evidence of them making an effort. The article is focusing on Google specifically choosing the majority of the male gender, but what if the majority gender of employees at Google are males because more men were intrigued by the subject of technology than women. The article doesn't really explain this topic because it is not a major contributor of the bias.

I believe everybody in the world contains bias in them. There will always be bias in the world as long as people have opinions for things. The issue with Google, i'm not sure how they will "solve" their issue of no/low diversity, I believe they will at least improve the diversity, but it might be impossible for Google to be symmetrically diverse between men and women.
